Outcome Statement of the Forum on Artificial Intelligence in Africa

In December 2018 we contributed as panelists to the successful conclusion of the 1st Forum on Artificial Intelligence in Africa, held in Benguerir. The resulting Outcome Statement or the Benguerir Statement has indicated the need to adopt a human-centered artificial intelligence for Africa’s development as well as UNESCO’s key role in addressing some challenges and opportunities that Al represents for the continent. The statement came to our team via¬† a letter addressed from the Assistant Director-General for Priority Africa and External Relations of UNESCO, Mr Firmin E. Matoko.
